Hey there.

With the anticipation of Apple releasing its new tablet, the iPad, a few questions are immediately raised from the entrepreneur in me.

Would it be possible to run my ENTIRE business… EXCLUSIVELY from my iPad?

My immediate answer is absolutely yes! Not only will the iPad have all of the necessary ‘executive’ software, the lack of a full blown operating system will have me structuring business activities much more ‘top down’.

So, rather than opening up Photoshop and spending an hour working on a banner ad, it would be easier for me to shoot off a 2-minute e-mail to a designer to get the same done in less time with higher quality results.

Obviously, it’s better to have functionality you rarely use and not need it… rather than not having it at all. However, the incredible portability and ease-of-use the iPad is offering seems like the ultimate “online entrepreneur” workstation for a few reasons:

Working with your project manager (who in turn works with your employees) is a cinch. Simply use e-mail/Safari/Basecamp.

Creating presentations with iWork

Google Analytics iPad App

Really, any other functionality if you use VPN/remote control software for the occasional keyword research tool / SpeedPPC if you don’t outsource.

The iPad seems to be a super lightweight, “thin-client” platform that appeals to the mobile user… especially, the mobile entrepreneur. I’d love to see some custom applications oriented for online business. Overall, it will function as my main workstation, forcing me to focus more on macromanagement, rather than micromanagement.

Hey there,

Are you looking for an investment opportunity?

I’m currently raising funding for a product with a HUGE amount of ultra-successful personal & clinical testimony. The product has been out for a while and has tons of research behind it, but it has only been promoted in big, ugly powder packaging with inferior marketing offline.

Essentially, this is completely “untapped” and the opportunity is huge with bringing this online and introducing it to the “cost-per-action” industry, where we will have affiliates promoting this product and company for a percentage of each sale. Although we pay the affiliates one-time on the first sale, there is a VERY strong continuity program in place (with several relevant cross- and up-sells) to maximize the amount of revenue from each customer. We are also experimenting with a “multi-level marketing” approach, where we can have customers promote our product to their friends and family for a % of each sale.

While I can’t reveal many of the details publicly, I can reveal that after speaking with Jim Gardner and his team AtLast Fulfillment, they gave me an expectation of 100+ daily orders at the very minimum from affiliates. We can integrate a viral referral model that I’ve been experimenting with on Facebook that allowed me to grow at 1000 new users per day per group. The market is there, the product is there… we just need to create the packaging and market it the correct way. As an online advertising expert, I already have the ducks in place to make this promotion a success. I simply need YOUR help to start the snowball effect.

Industry standard continuity life expectancy is 2-3 months. At a $60/mo subscription, we’re looking at $180,000 of additional revenue each month if we have a strong continuity program. Expected revenue 3 months after launch exceeds $1mm.

If you are interested, please use my contact form to send me an instant message. I am looking to move forward with this within a week. Percentages of profit-share are for sale.

Thanks!

I’ve come across a few website owners recently who are simply not interested in making changes to their site. It’s “just right” or “took a long time to get it like this”. However, there’s always room for improvement and split-testing is absolutely necessary to optimize your site, sales page, and autoresponder e-mails to ensure your users are doing what you want them to do.

A/B is the most basic form of split-testing. Essentially, you have 2 copies of a page/e-mail, and you see which one performs best. The difference between a profitable campaign and an unprofitable one can literally come down to the headline you are using. So, what’s the correct way to split-test your site?

Find out / pick one exact call to action that you want to optimize for. Whether this is the play button for a band site’s audio player or the purchase button for a product, set up Google Website Optimizer to make this action trackable. This way, you can actually see what percentage of your users does this given action.

Create 2-3 drastically different copies of your current page and split-test these with Google Website Optimizer.

Once one of the 2 or 3 shows consistent outperformance of the others, you can start testing the individual elements of your site: headline (headline split-testing alone can increase conversions by 200%), call to action (colors, text, style, etc), color, graphics, layout, and copy.

With this formula, you can ensure that your site is optimized and performing at its peak for your purpose. Let’s look at an example of a sample site selling one product. Let’s say the page converts at 3%. This means that out of 100 visitors, we’ll have 3 purchases. If we’re driving traffic at $1 a click and the net profit from each sale is $30, we’re going to be losing $10 for every $100 worth of paid traffic.

If, after split-testing, we’re able to increase our conversion rate ONLY to 4%, which is an extremely conservative improvement, we’re now profiting $20 from every $100 worth of paid traffic. Without even touching our traffic source, we’ve turned a loser into a winner.

After optimizing the site, you can then optimize your ads for an improved CTR (which will result in a lower CPC), as well as your autoresponder e-mails. It’s crucial to have a strong grasp around the metrics of your websites. After all, if you’re not tracking it, you can know for certain that your site is performing less than it can be with just a few, simple tweaks.

The new hot ClickBank product on beating speeding tickets or becoming a multi-lingual ninja may phase out with time, but there are a few markets that are going to be around for a VERY long time. They are:

Business Opportunity

Credit & Debt

Dating

Health & Diet

Education

Almost every affiliate network will have offers for all of these niches. Naturally, your most common traffic sources are going to be the most competitive. Find small sites and more uncommon traffic sources for cheaper advertising.

Rather than diversifying your affiliate campaigns and not finding any winners, focus your ad dollars and attention on a single traffic source for one offer. These verticals are working for MANY OTHERS, and it’s not too uncommon to see people driving 1000+ leads a day. Dial into what you need to do (landing page creation, ad copy, split-testing pages, etc.) and get it done.

There was once a man who went around to house owners and offered every week to cut their grass. When he was looking to sell his business, an appraiser told him that he didn’t have a business to sell – it was simply a habit of the house owners to want their grass cut.

However, the man re-approached his appraiser when all of the house owners agreed on contract to have their grass cut every week. Now that the man had a list of clients rather than just prospects, his business now had true value.

This same idea holds true for CPA campaigns. Rather than just brokering traffic, is there more and more value being added to your business daily? If all of a sudden your main traffic source, niche, or marketing method was unusable, would there still value attached to your online business?

This means rather than just scaling your paid traffic, are you using your traffic in the best way possible? Are you building a valuable list, or are you helping someone else build theirs?

Follow the process, and position yourself in the best way possible.

There was a social psychology experiment performed where four actors and one test subject were to compare several lines of differing length. Once compared, the 4 actors would voice their opinions first, then the “real” test subject would voice his last.

It turned out that when the test subject made his answer only internally, almost 50% of the time his answer would change.

When the test subject was forced to write his answer down, then to discard it, his answer would only change 25% of the time.

However, when the test subject was forced to write his answer down, then hand his decision over to the experimenter, the subject would almost never change from the original decision.

Based on this experiment, I feel like people in general are much more prone to following through with their plans when they are made public. It’s much more difficult to back out of a decision once you’re expected to follow through.

Continuing with this idea, I’ve decided to officially declare some of the goals I’m currently working on. With college starting up, my time is more limited and it’s a little more difficult to focus on my campaigns. I’ve decided to start fresh with CPA and focus on one primary niche before expanding my reach. The plan is to really enter this markets and a hold solid position before diversifying my CPA portfolio.

This morning, I’ve launched a new campaign – a dating offer direct-linked on Faceboook. While the data comes back during the next few days, I’ll be optimizing my campaign extensively. By August 1st (7 days), I will be consistently generating 50 conversions per day on this offer. Adspend and commission information will be posted daily, as well as what exactly I’m doing to refine my campaigns.

This will hopefully provide some solid insight into the actual mechanics of how a campaign is first set up, how its monitored and managed, and how its optimized and refined as it matures.

This offer is being run on Profit Kings Media, a fantastic network that is really making waves in the affiliate marketing community.

“An employer will never pay you what you’re worth, because if they did, you simply wouldn’t be a profitable asset to the company.”

No matter how hard you work, there’s only 24 hours in a day, and there’s only so much you can do by yourself.

That means, if you subscribe to the idea of having a fixed income, no matter how much you love your job or how often you want to work, there’s a very clear wall to how much money you can make.

Why does it appear that, in general, the more difficult and tedious the work is, the person working

By definition, employees exist to make employers money. An employer will never pay you what you’re worth, because if they did, you simply wouldn’t be a profitable asset to the company.

The question stands – how do you break through the limit of having just 24 hours in a day? How are people making millions of dollars in a DAY, when they only have as much time as everyone else?

The answer is leveraging time and resources so you can make as significant of an impact in your day. If you have 10 workers, all of a sudden you now have a potential 264 hours in a single day.

If you have a website where search engines, Facebook, Twitter, and other advertisements are sending thousands of people a day, you’ve expanded this even further.

The key is finding a profitable system that you can package in such a way that can be sold and consumed without your direct attention. Information products and services are two very common outlets for this idea. Rather than working 8 hours a day @ $10/hour for a total of $80 a day, what if you could sell just TWO copies of an information product or TWO subscriptions to a membership?

Now, what if rather than you directly selling these copies, you had advertising campaigns doing all of the hard work for you, driving endless volumes of visitors to your sales page?

Once you break out of the confines of a 24 hour day, the possibilities are endless.

-John
